Traits Guide

Non-Traits

Body Type

Any Felinoptera can have any body type. Some body types are more common to certain classes than others, for example Monarchs tend to have larger bellies, but there's always exceptions to the trends. Disabilities, scars, and prosthetics are always allowed as well.

Color

The fur, skin, and chitin of a Felinoptera can be any color, including colors that change under certain conditions like seasonal coats. Special textures and effects are limited, however.

Antennae

Felinopteras can have any natural antenna shape. Unnatural shapes like hearts or stars are not currently available.

Other

Felinopteras can have any gender and pronouns, regardless of class. Gender is a foreign concept that the species has picked up from alien species and adopted as their own, and their native language lacks gendered pronouns (though they will pick at least one set to use in alien languages that have them, like English). Pupils can be any shape. Finally, Felinopteras can have fur that resembles hair or a mane that is a different length or texture from their body fur (and can be any texture/length).

Ears

Pointed Ears (Silver)

Any natural feline ears that end in a point, such as domestic cats (including purebreds such as the Scottish Fold), caracals, and servals.

Rounded Ears (Silver)

Any natural feline ears that have a round shape, like lions and tigers.

Duplicated Ears (Gold)

Two or more pairs of ears. All ears must be the same style.

Fur

Long Fur (Silver)

Body fur that has a bit of length to it, like that of the Somali or Persian breeds.

Short Fur (Silver)

Body fur that sits close to the body like most felines.

Curly Fur (Silver)

Fur that spirals and curls, like a rex breed or a LaPerm. Must be combined with either short or long fur.

Hairless (Gold)

No fur on the body, like a Sphynx cat. Can have light patches of fur on the extremities like a Donskoy, in which case it can be combined with other fur traits.

Tails

Normal Tail (Silver)

Any natural feline tail. Can be bobbed, curled, kinked, tufted, whatever as long as real felines can have that style of tail too.

Spade Tail (Event)

Tail ends in a pointed spade, triangle, or heart shape.

Wings

Insect Wings (Gold)

Any natural insect wings. Bee, wasp, and ant wings are most common, but other insect wings like moth wings have been known to occur.

Vertebrate Wings (Event)

Any wing with a bone structure, such as bird or bat wings.

Other

Bioluminescence (Gold)

Fur and/or chitin that glows even without a source of light.

No Chitin Plates (Platinum)

No chitin plates on the body. Antennae are still required.

Hybrid Traits (Platinum)

Species traits from any non-Felinoptera species that do not fall under a different trait (not including event traits). The other species must be a real organism (like deer), in the public domain (like dragons), or a species that you have explicit permission to use (such as your own OS).

Horns (Event)

Keratinous horns on the head. Can be any shape, and are typically but not always symmetrical. Can number anywhere from 1-7.
